Teachers' Edition in Charlottesville was founded over 30 years ago by Sylvia Gillespie, a former teacher and local resident, with the goal of providing teachers and parents of students in Pre-K through 12th grade with the latest educational products, books, and games on the market.

Today, owners Lee and Laurie Cooke continue the tradition of helping parents and teachers gain access to the best educational tools. The Charlottesville couple, both former teachers, decided to purchase the educational store in 2007 from the Gillespie family upon Sylvia's retirement.

"We saw it as an opportunity to help fellow teachers and parents obtain affordable yet quality educational materials to stimulate student learning in the classroom and at home. We feel it is a great investment in our community and our own retirement," says Lee.

Now, conveniently located on Berkmar Drive, Teachers' Edition is the largest retailer of educational supplies and games in Central Virginia. They have recently opened an on-line store for the customer convenience and gladly accept special orders at their retail location.
